Seeking a Way to Make a Difference

Volunteering has always been close to the heart of SeekingSitters. We encourage the Sitters to get involved in their communities and reach the families around them.

Christina, the Super Sitter, wrote an article, How Do I Love Thee, for SeekingSitters February Newsletter about deciding to show people that we care and gave some great ideas on how to get involved in your community.

In light of the recent (May 24, 2011) devastating tornadoes that hit Joplin, MO, SeekingSitters wanted to let people know about ways you can help the victims that are now without homes, clothes, food, among many other necessities.

The Red Cross estimates that it will spend as much as $41 million responding to the disasters that have affected the country since March 31, and to date, about $33.6 million has been raised in donations for these responses. Those who want to help can make a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster Relief. This gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to disasters.
